PROCESS

Developing this technique from scratch was very challenging. I  used wood as the medium for the 3D Agamographs. I moved from standard plywood which warped, eventually to Baltic Birch plywood which helped improve the finished result. The plywood was cut at 45 degree angles and glued together to form triangles painting on 2 of 3 sides. I developed a template to seat the triangles resulting in a flat surface to paint each design. Once I developed appropriate patterns, acrylic paint was used for the bright colours. When complete the 3D Agamograph was glued onto a wood frame.
